'The Last Of Us 2' Delayed Release Could Affect Another Major Console-Exclusive Release
Earlier today, several sites reported that the release of “The Last of Us 2” will be delayed to spring 2020. The postponed release of the major Naughty Dog sequel could affect the release date of the game “Ghost of Tsushima.” According to a report, Sucker Punch’s upcoming samurai action game will also receive a delay.
Kotaku journalist Jason Schrier shared through a tweet that the much-awaited game “Ghost of Tsushima” was originally scheduled to launch in the first or second quarter of 2020. This is probably to maintain a considerable distance for the release of the PlayStation 5 somewhere in the holiday of 2020. But, with the supposed delay of the release of “The Last of Us 2,” the samurai game will most likely be pushed back to the later months of the year.
The journalist goes on saying that the “Ghost of Tsushima” will not be released on Sony’s next-generation gaming console, the PlayStation 5. This aligns with earlier claims that the upcoming samurai game will be released on the PlayStation 4. The latest announcement will probably disappoint many fans who are excited to get their hands on the newest offering from Sucker Punch.
But, providing ample space between the release of “The Last of Us 2” and the “Ghost of Tsushima” is a great strategy, says Gamerant. It will give gamers the chance to enjoy both console exclusive titles while providing the necessary stretch of time between now and the release of the PlayStation 5 sometime in the holiday of 2020.
The highly anticipated samurai game “Ghost of Tsushima” was introduced during the 2017 Paris Games Week. We have heard little information about the game since then, aside from the lengthy gameplay trailer released at the E3 2018. With the recent confirmation that the game is releasing on the PlayStation 4 gaming console, it remains to be seen how close the title will launch to the release of Sony’s PlayStation 5.
“Ghost of Tsushima” will offer stunning visuals and hard-hitting samurai combat. The game is the first Sucker Punch title after the release of “Infamous: Second Son” in 2014. “Ghost of Tsushima” is anticipated to arrive in the first half of 2020 and will be exclusively released on the PS4.
