‘The Last Of Us 2’ Update To Be Released Before E3 2019, Insider Claims

Naughty Dog’s “The Last Of Us 2” continues to be one of the most highly anticipated titles in gaming today. While the game devs themselves keep their lips sealed about the game’s details, a certain industry insider claims that an update about the upcoming title will be arriving real soon.

It has been almost six years since “The Last Of Us” was released in 2013. The first title became a blockbuster hit, amassing a lot of fans among the gaming populace. As such, fans continue to wait for the upcoming sequel, and it seems that it won’t be long before some much-needed information arrives.

According to a ResetEra thread, Naughty Dog might release an update about “The Last Of Us 2” before this year’s E3. This comment came from a certain ResetEra user named Aokiji who, according to Games Radar, is the same industry insider who leaked the existence of Sony’s internet show, “State of Play,” before it was announced.

Aokiji’s accuracy in predicting that internet show gives credence to this new reveal. Specifically, the user said:

“Considering we’re getting an official TLOU2 update before E3, would be really weird if it wasn’t 2019 now wouldn’t it.”

Aokiji’s words serve to tell the public a few things. First, an update will arrive before E3. Second and more importantly, it would be weird if the game doesn’t see a release before the year ends.

Aokiji’s claim seems to confirm a previous report from the International Business Times that said the game might be released later this year.

According to a European retailer named ProGamingShop, “The Last Of Us 2” will be out in Sept. 27 of this year. Of course, fans can simply consider this as the game retailer’s attempts at getting more people to visit their website, but at the time it seemed logical because Sept. 27 is a Friday, and most games are released during Fridays.

As of now, it is listed for release on Dec. 31, the last day of the year.

Still, eventhough the insider has leaked accurate information already, it would be best to wait for Naughty Dog to make an official announcement.
