Latest 'Genshin Impact' Leak Reveals Fans' Most Requested Feature Finally Coming
KEY POINTS
- "Genshin Impact" Update 1.5 is now live
- The next major "Genshin Impact" update is expected to arrive in June
- "Genshin Impact" 1.6 would reportedly introduce new character skins
A couple of new "Genshin Impact" leaks seemingly confirmed that players could soon customize their favorite characters' skins or costumes.
Reliable industry insiders Project Celestia and Genshin Report have posted on Twitter about a new feature that could launch in "Genshin Impact" very soon. While one of the biggest strengths of the hit gacha game is its different characters, players could not customize their skins or costumes. However, according to the insiders, this might no longer be the case.
Data miners uncovered a couple of different costume sets for Jean and Barbara in the files of "Genshin Impact" recently. Earlier rumors claimed that miHoYo would introduce this particular feature in the game soon. However, this is the first time the industry has seen proof of the feature from the game's files.
There are a couple of Jean costumes, but instead of two distinct ones, they appear like variants of the same outfit, Genshin Report tweeted Sunday. The insider said it is not known which among these costumes will be available in the game, adding that there is a chance the characters' costumes could vary by region.
Unlike Jean, only one Barbara costume, called Summertime Sparkle, was uncovered by data miners. Rumors have it that "Genshin Impact" players could get their hands on Barbara's cool new skin as a reward for completing the Echoing Narration Event. Unfortunately, there is no word yet on how players could get Jean's new skins.
It is believed that these new skins would be available in "Genshin Impact" via Update 1.6. If this is accurate, players can expect these fantastic new costumes sometime in June. Chinese gaming studio miHoYo has not yet made any comment regarding the characters' costumes.
"Genshin Impact" update 1.5 has introduced a lot of new activities and events in the game. The hit gacha game is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, iOS and Android devices.
