While many fans are expecting that Rockstar Games would make an announcement related to “GTA 6” it looks like the game is still a few years away. A reliable industry insider claims that fans could start hearing official news about the game in 2023. Rockstar Games has not yet confirmed if the heavily-rumored title has already entered into production.

On Twitter, Owner and CEO of Viral Junkie Tom Henderson said that the industry is still a couple of years away from a “GTA 6” announcement. He added that he could not see any announcements happening until the fiscal year of 2023 at the earliest. The much-awaited title could still be a few years away considering that Rockstar Games would release “GTA 5” on next-generation gaming consoles.

“GTA 5” is a massive success and still a popular game in terms of revenue. Rockstar Games continuously rolls out interesting updates to the game. Additionally, it is one of the games with a massive player base.

While there is no official announcement from Rockstar Games about “GTA 6” leaks and rumors surrounding the game are still rife online. Recently, a fan reported that Take-Two Interactive renewed the gtavicecity domain. It triggered rumors that the heavily-rumored “GTA 6” would take place in the fictional version of Miami in the game.

Other rumors claimed that “GTA 6” would be set in the 1980s era and would have a female main protagonist. Another rumor claimed that “GTA 6” has a codename “Project Americas.” The leaker, who goes by the name JackOLantern1982 revealed 23 details about the said game.

“GTA 6” is called “Project Americas” because it will take place in various countries, according to the leaker. Rockstar Games is silent about the rumored title. However, during a four-part interview with Develop magazine, former Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies said “We don’t know what GTA 6 will be, but we’ve got some ideas. We’ve got about 45 years’ worth of ideas we want to do. We’ll pick the right ones. It comes from the idea first,” the former president added.
