'Law & Order: SVU' 20: Fin Betrayed By Ex-Partner In Episode 15? [RECAP]
"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" Season 20, episode 15 focused on Fin (Ice-T), who reconnects with an old friend as he and the rest of the team investigate the murders of young women.
In "Law & Order: SVU" Season 20, episode 15, titled "Brothel," the SVU investigated a death tied to a pop-up brothel throughout New York City. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her team was tasked to work with the New York Police Department's Vice Unit while following the trail of the murderers and figuring out what was going on.
During their investigation, Fin contacted ex-partner Phoebe Baker (Jennifer Esposito), whom he previously worked with in narcotics about two decades ago. Fin and Baker seemed to work well together despite the many years since they had lost contact with each other. However, things got complicated when it appeared as though something was going on behind the scenes during the investigation. Specifically, it seemed like there was a mole in the group.
Fin initially refused to believe that Baker was the rat, but more evidence seemed to pile up pointing to her being dirty. Fin had a lot of faith in Baker due to their history and he held her to such a high standard compared to perhaps everyone else. But he avoided her and began to suspect her, only to find out later that he had no cause to push Baker away. It turned out she had no connection to the goings-on during the case.
The rat was actually a prominent judge who had been doing secret double-dealings. In the interrogation room, everyone witnessed his dangerous view of morality, and the SVU team could finally wrap up their case.
At the end of "Law & Order: SVU" Season 20, episode 15, Fin and Baker finally got things out in the open and talked about their past. Fin admitted to her that he hadn't been fair to her two decades ago. He hadn't been there for her as he was just getting out of his marriage.
Unfortunately for viewers who may have wanted to see Fin and Baker together after seeing their chemistry, the latter is seeing someone at the moment. But that could change in the future.
