Lea Michele Tweets Tribute To Cory Monteith With New Photo On The Anniversary Of His Death
Actress and singer Lea Michele continues to remember her boyfriend and co-star Cory Monteith on social media. She took to her Twitter page on Monday to tweet a tribute to the actor on the anniversary of his death. Michele posted a photo of Monteith with a caption that reiterated her feelings about the young actor who tragically passed away from a drug overdose.
The touching tribute from the actress to her former boyfriend comes on the two year anniversary of his untimely death. Cory Monteith had struggled with substance abuse for years and had attended a rehab program earlier in 2013. He passed away from a heroin overdose in Vancouver in July 2013.
The pair played two of the lead characters during the first seasons of the high school musical themed show, “Glee.” As they portrayed the popular jock Finn and the Broadway obsessed Rachel, the two began dating behind-the-scenes. Monteith and Michele were together for nearly two years until his death.
This isn’t the first time Michele has tweeted out a tribute to her former co-star and partner. In May, the actress wished Monteith “happy birthday” on Twitter that many fans retweeted heavily. The actor would have turned 33 this year.
Lea Michele, 28, has been keeping busy as of late. The actress is set to give her vocal range a new pitch in the upcoming Fox show, “Scream Queens.” She spent a packed weekend at San Diego Comic-Con to promote the new show with her co-stars. “Scream Queens” is set to premiere on the network in September.
