‘League Of Legends': Teamfight Tactics To Add Ranked Mode, Twisted Fate To Champion Pool
Riot Games has recently announced that some new Teamfight Tactics content would be coming on the next Patch 9.14 update. A new champion will be added to the pool of Riot’s Auto Chess game. Moreover, a Ranked mode and a three-month season before champion rotation will also be pushed for this title.
According to Riot MapleNectar’s post on the official "League of Legends" forum site, Riot is planning to push out these new updates as the game gets updated to Patch 9.14. Before the update fully changes into the next one, Riot is planning to adjust some unit drop rates, adjustments to Yasuo, Kennen and the Morellonomicon item, and bug squashing during Patch 9.13.
For the new patch, Twisted Fate will be included in “Teamfight Tactics” mode as a Pirate/Sorcerer character. The character is also said to be part of the early game which could mean his champion cost could be from 1 to 3 gold. Potentially, Pirate team compositions could be easier to make with another low cost unit and the Sorcerer class bonus could help with these units’ with extra firepower if built out.
More often than not, players aiming for Pirate or Sorcerer team compositions often suffer the lack of frontline characters or have to invest on a defensive frontline composition first before completing it. While Twisted Fate doesn’t look like filling the tank role, his inclusion could help players play this composition easier without risking a team that’s easily picked out.
Other than this character, a separate “Teamfight Tactics” Ranked Mode is also planned to be introduced on Patch 9.14. This mode would provide competitive players an avenue to rise up and succeed in Riot’s style of the Auto Chess game genre. We’ve yet to see if this mode will follow the regular Summoner’s Rift ranked mode’s divisions and rank tiers.
Lastly, “Teamfight Tactics” is confirmed to have champion rotations after three months. In the rotation, the current set of champions would be replaced by another to keep the game fresh and different. This practice is often found in card games where cards of older expansions cannot be used anymore as new expansions are introduced in the game.
For now, we’ll have to wait for Riot to officially release Patch 9.14 into the live servers and out of its test servers.
