Leah Remini Accuses Ellen DeGeneres Of 'Acting Interested' Before Hitting Her On Talk Show
Leah Remini guested on Ellen DeGeneres' popular talk show Tuesday and called out the host for her responses, accusing her of "acting interested" before hitting her.
During her appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the "King of Queens" alum got into the Halloween spirit by quipping the 63-year-old host that "it's normal for a parent to scare the crap out of their kids."
Remini, who shares a 17-year-old daughter with husband Angelo Pagan, then showed a photo of a mask she and Pagan once used to frighten their daughter Sofia and recalled a time when she and her assistant hid inside her dance instructor's car to scare her daughter.
"One of my teachers was there, and I had my assistants dress up in my pigtails," Remini said before suddenly cutting her story short to comment on DeGeneres' facial expression.
Not knowing how to read the host's expression, Remini told her, "No, because you're acting really interested. So, like, I don't know if you're doing that thing where you're, like, into my story, so that…"
A seemingly surprised DeGeneres quickly responded, "I'm always interested!"
However, Remini still seemed unconvinced and told DeGeneres, "You're not, Ellen. Stop."
At that point, both DeGeneres and Remini were smiling but didn't seem to be joking around. To make sense of the situation, the host asked Remini, "What do you mean, I'm acting interested?"
Her question led Remini to lean over in her chair and hit her on the arm. She managed to smack her twice before DeGeneres pulled her arm away, telling her guest, "Oh! It's my last season!"
After their playful exchange, Remini told the audience it was all love between her and DeGeneres.
"I love you, I miss you and I'm so happy to be here on your last season," she told DeGeneres. "But anyway, thank you for having me."
After DeGeneres said she was welcome, Remini comically said, "Back to me!" The guest then continued to tell her story about her failed attempt to scare Sofia.
