'The Leftovers' Season 2 Spoilers: Episode 5 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In 'No Room At The Inn'? [VIDEO]

Miracle is starting to be a rather ironic name for a town where so much trouble is brewing in "The Leftovers" Season 2. As Erika (Regina King) said in episode 4, "everything will change now." Did Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux) bring this bad luck to Texas? That remains to be seen. However, things are going get worse before they get better in episode 5, "No Room at the Inn," especially for the town's most ardent believer -- Reverend Matt Jamison (Christopher Eccleston).

According to the synopsis for the new episode, Matt will take his vegetative wife, Mary (Janel Moloney), outside of Miracle to get some answers about her condition. However, when he tries to come back to the town again the guards on the border will not let him enter. That leaves the pair stranded out among the increasingly restless and violent tourists camped outside the city limits. In episode 4, Matt told Nora (Carrie Coon) his faith in Miracle's powers stemmed from the first night he spent there, when Mary suddenly became lucid and talked to her husband for hours. He said the powers at be in the town did not want him to talk about his wife's miraculous night for some reason. Is this their way of silencing him?

The promo for the episode reveals that Matt and Mary's time spent outside of town will not be easy. The teaser shows them stranded in the rain, fending off rowdy tourists, and arguing with border guards trying to get home. Things are going to get pretty desperate.

"It's every man for himself out there," John (Kevin Carroll) tells Kevin. "It can get rough."

It can get rough indeed. One scene shows Matt pleading with Mary to look at him and speak. If there was ever a time for a Miracle in Miracle, this might be it.

Meanwhile, the search for Evie (Jasmin Savoy Brown) continues and the promo reveals someone thinks they spotted the missing girls in the street. Patti (Ann Dowd) told Kevin in episode 4 that the girls departed. What gives?

Will Matt and Mary be able to make it back into Miracle? Will the missing girls ever be found? Fans will have to wait to find out. "The Leftovers" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EDT on HBO.
