'The Leftovers' Star Justin Theroux Reveals Jennifer Aniston's Real Best Friend

Justin Theroux recently revealed that he is just one of his wife Jennifer Aniston's many best friends.

On Monday, Aniston's husband appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," where Ellen DeGeneres asked him about a longstanding debate between her and Reese Witherspoon. It turns out DeGeneres and Witherspoon had jokingly argued over which of them is closer to the "Cake" star.

"Well, I'm Jen's — one of Jen's — best friends," the 46-year-old star replied (via Us Weekly). "I don't want to get competitive though. I get in trouble I say she's the best friend, or you're the best friend."

The "Leftovers" star was obviously playing it safe, so DeGeneres was not satisfied with his response and prodded him to make a decision. "But the honest truth is I'm the better friend," the talk show host said.

Theroux went on to say that Aniston is as close to Reese as she is to DeGeneres. "Don't get me wrong. She adores you," he explained, before the pair eventually agreed that DeGeneres and the "Legally Blonde" star are "equal friends" to Aniston.

In August, Aniston and Theroux celebrated their second anniversary as a married couple. The "John Adams" star shared a photo on Instagram of his wife kissing him on his cheek. The actor only put emojis of an arrow, heart and a victory hand as his caption.

Prior to their anniversary, the couple was spotted enjoying dinner at the Blue Hill restaurant. The pair held hands as they made their way to the high-end restaurant. The venue is special for Aniston and Theroux as it was where he made his proposal to the "We're the Millers" actress. Theroux was celebrating his 41st birthday when he decided to pop the big question.

Theroux and Aniston tied the knot in a secret wedding in 2015 at their home in Los Angeles.

Talking about his nuptials with Aniston, the actor said that the ceremony was what they wanted all along. "It's so much more special when it's just your closest friends and family and it's lovely," Theroux said of his private wedding with Aniston to Entertainment Tonight. "[Aniston and I] wanted it to be a peaceful environment, you don't want it to be hectic."

Among the couple's wedding guests are John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Lisa Kudrow, Howard Stern, Sia, Chelsea Handler, Lake Bell, Terry Richardson and DeGeneres. When they arrived, they all thought that they would be attending Theroux's 44th birthday party, but instead got a big surprise.
