‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Season 2 Spoilers: Stein Will Discover Something ‘Funky’ In 2016 In ‘Invasion!’ Crossover Event
Stein (Victor Garber) is going to find something striking when the Legends return to 2016 to help The Flash (Grant Gustin), Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) stop the Dominators from invading Earth-1.
In a recent interview, Variety asked “Legends of Tomorrow” executive producer Marc Guggenheim if the Legends are going to notice anything “funky” in 2016, as it’s the first time they would be back in the present day since Barry created Flashpoint.
Guggenheim revealed that Stein is going to “notice something pretty funky,” but didn’t clearly confirm whether it’s a direct result of Barry messing with the timeline or a consequence of a previous time aberration.
According to the synopsis for Season 2, episode 7 of “Legends of Tomorrow” — which is the fourth and final installment of the “Invasion!” crossover event — Stein realizes that he created a time aberration in 1987.
The Legends last visited 1987 in Season 2, episode 5, titled “Compromised.” In it, Stein’s younger self (Graeme McComb) was stabbed by Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), causing him to miss his dinner date with his future wife Clarissa, who was celebrating her birthday at that time. Their relationship had probably begun to crumble since that snafu, and young Stein might have ended up marrying a completely different girl. If that's what happens, then it explains why Stein was seeing visions of a mystery woman he has never met but is someone he truly loves.
The “Legends of Tomorrow” crossover episode airs on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW. Check out the full synopsis for the episode below:
“After learning the Dominators’ plan for the world, the Legends must work together with The Flash, Supergirl and Green Arrow to kill them once and for all. Meanwhile, Stein figures out, with the help of others, how the team can terminate the Dominators, but is distracted by the aberration he realizes he created in 1987.”
