‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Season 4 Premiere Synopsis; Season 3 Finale Recap
Before The CW’s “Legends of Tomorrow” airs its Season 4 premiere tonight, let’s make sure you remember everything that happened at the end of the last season.
The Season 3 finale, “The Good, the Bad and the Cuddly,” started off on a sentimental note, with Rip (Arthur Darvill) sacrificing himself for the Legends. He decided to rip out one of the time drives from the Waverider and use it as a bomb against Mallus. Unfortunately, the task required that he get blown up alongside the villain. The goal of this was simply to slow down Mallus, to give the Legends more time to figure out a way to defeat him, but it required Rip to be killed in the process.
After the founder of the team was gone, some members of the group decided to hide in 1874, where they reunited with their old friend, Jonah Hex (Johnathon Schaech). Meanwhile, Ray (Brandon Routh) let his emotions get the better of him and decided to free Damien (Neal McDonough), despite being told not to by Sara (Caity Lotz), so they could work together to go back in time and save Nora (Courtney Ford).
Also going on a journey of their own, a spiritual one, were Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Nate (Nick Zano). She took a vision quest to ask her ancestors how the Legends can use the totems together to take down Mallus. Zari (Tala Ashe) did her part in helping the team by sending out an SOS to all of their allies throughout time, asking them for their help in taking down the season’s big bad.
The episode ended with Damien sacrificing himself for his daughter, by driving Mallus right into himself. The Legends in 1874, along with their visiting allies, took down all of Mallus’ army by finally figuring out their totems and using them to create a giant Beebo. Yes, Beebo returned and he saved the day. Amaya, with her memories still intact, headed back to Zambesi, while everyone else went on vacation. John Constantine (Matt Ryan) interrupted their fun in the sun to reveal that when they had freed Mallus, other demons had escaped, too.
That brings us up to tonight’s “Legends of Tomorrow” Season 4 premiere, titled “The Virgin Gary.” In the episode, “Constantine informs Sara of a new magical threat that leads the team to Woodstock,” the synopsis explains. “Constantine thinks he knows how to defeat the new threat, but will need the help of the team and their special klepto talents to help with his spell. Meanwhile, Nate and Rory (Dominic Purcell) go on an adventure leaving Nate facing someone from his past.”
