‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Stars Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh And More React To Show’s Season 3 Renewal
“Legends of Tomorrow” star Caity Lotz took to Instagram to thank the show’s fans a few hours after the news broke that the CW renewed the series for a third season.
“A huge thank you to all the fans for tuning in and making this possible,” Caity Lotz wrote on the social networking site, alongside a photo collage of her character, Sara Lance, in different period costumes. The 30-year-old actress also expressed her gratitude to the show’s writers for keeping her and her co-stars “laughing,” and to the series’ costume department for dressing her “so nice.”
Lotz ended her caption on a funny note, writing that her Instagram post feels like she’s giving her Golden Globes speech from her couch.
In a tweet, Brandon Routh also thanked the fans for watching the show, assuring them that there’s so much more in store for the Legends in Season 3.
The 37-year-old actor, who plays Ray Palmer on the show, also took Instagram to share the good news. “Pretty good way to #ring in the new year,” he captioned a photo of himself smiling while wearing chain mail.
Nick Zano, meanwhile, posted a black and white behind-the-scenes photo of Lotz, Routh, Victor Garber (Martin Stein) and Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory) inside a cage. In the caption for the snapshot, Zano, who plays Nate Heywood on the show, wrote that he’s “lucky to be trapped” with his co-stars for another season.
Maisie Richardson-Sellers also reacted to the renewal news. The “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” actress, who plays Amaya/Vixen on the show, tweeted that “things can only get crazier” in the third season of the “Arrow” — “The Flash” offshoot. Her tweet comes with a photo of the whole Season 2 main cast, which includes Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter) and Franz Drameh (Jax Jackson).
John Barrowman, who portrays Legion of Doom member Malcolm Merlyn on the show, also sent his congratulations to the whole DC family, which also got an early season renewal for “Arrow,” “The Flash” and “Supergirl.”
Episode order sizes for the four shows are yet to be announced. According to Deadline, those decisions will be made in May when the CW higher-ups finalize the network’s fall schedule.
“Legends of Tomorrow” is currently on hiatus. The show returns with an all-new episode on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 9 p.m. EST.
