Lena Dunham Celebrates With Taylor Swift At ‘Saturday Night Live’ After-Party; Gets Naked In SNL Spoof Video
Lena Dunham, who made her debut appearance on “Saturday Night Live” on March 8, celebrated with Taylor Swift at the SNL after-party at Asellina Ristorante in Manhattan's Union Square, E! News reported.
J. Crew’s creative director and “Girls” guest star Jenna Lyons, “Mean Girls” star Daniel Franzese, as well as SNL cast members Aidy Bryant, Bobby Moynihan and Vanessa Bayer were also reportedly present at the after-party.
Franzese added some pictures from the after-party to his Instagram account, captioning one of them: “Live from New York it's the @nbcsnl after party with @girlshbo star @lenadunham and #meangirls homie #RajivSurendra and me @whatsupdanny !”
He added a picture with Swift captioning it: "Sure this is mah boy Rajiv with @taylorswift and me @whatsupdanny probably the best party ever. You?"
Dunham, 27, took to Twitter to talk about her SNL debut: “Cannot overstate how joyful this experience has been. I have always loved you Saturday Night Live, but now I am IN love with you.”
Dunham opened the SNL program with a hilarious spoof video based on the biblical film “Noah” along with "SNL" regular and Taran Killam, who took on the role of "Girls" co-star Adam Driver in the video. The "Girls" star sheds her clothes in the video, just as she often does in her HBO hit series, while telling the story of Adam and Eve.
On the show, Dunham defended “Girls” nakedness in her opening monologue saying: "Every show has its thing.’Seinfeld' had the puffy shirt.’ Home Improvement' had the neighbor talking over the fence." "And we have very graphic sex scenes. That's our thing."
She also said: “There is an old saying: If you're nervous about giving a speech, just imagine the audience naked. Or at least imagine that they haven't seen you naked.”
The National, a Brooklyn-based band, was the musical guest for the episode. "SNL" will return with a new episode on March 29 with Louis C.K. as the host for the second time.
