‘Lethal Weapon’ Season 2, Episode 5 Spoilers: Thomas Lennon’s Leo Getz Returns
Riggs and Murtaugh team up with returning character Leo Getz in the next episode of “Lethal Weapon.”
According to the synopsis for Season 2, episode 5 of the Fox series, Riggs (Clayne Crawford) and Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) investigate a death that occurs moments before the victim’s bet wins a horse race. Leo (Thomas Lennon) insists that it’s a homicide and aids in the investigation.
The trailer for the episode reveals that Leo is a friend of the victim, and that explains his commitment in finding out the truth about his buddy’s death.
Apparently, one of the persons of interest in the presumed killing works at a tattoo shop, so Riggs and Murtaugh visit the establishment. But as soon as they enter the shop and declare that they are looking for a loan shark, extortionist, cobbler and arms dealer, the men they find inside start to attack them. The partners manage to take the dudes down, and Leo — who appears to have secretly entered the shop — also finds a way to save himself from one of the bad guys who tries to strangle him.
When Leo thinks that he has killed the man who came after him, Riggs jokingly tells him: “ I hope you know a good lawyer.”
Lennon made his debut as Leo in Season 1, episode 15, and although he only appeared in one episode of the show’s freshman run, the actor said that he enjoyed his first foray into the series. “Working with the two of those guys (Crawford and Wayans) was an endless delight,” Lennon told Uproxx in February. “They’re so unbelievably funny, and also [have high] … level of dedication.”
“It was one of the most fun shows I’ve been on in years, if not longer, since doing my own show at least,” the “Odd Couple” alum said of “Lethal Weapon.”
Also in the next episode, Murtaugh updates his will, and Riggs struggles to come to terms with his past.
“Lethal Weapon” Season 2, episode 5, titled “Let It Ride,” airs on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox. But in the event that a World Series Game #6 is necessary, the episode will be preempted, and local programming will air in primetime on the West Coast.
