‘Lethal Weapon’ Season 2 Spoilers: Episode 4 Synopsis, Trailer Released
Riggs and Murtaugh investigate a rare case of robbery in next week’s episode of “Lethal Weapon.”
According to the synopsis for Season 2, episode 4 of the Fox series, Riggs (Clayne Crawford) and Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) respond to a robbery that took place 20,000 feet in the air.
In the trailer for the episode, the thief (Adrian Pasdar) robs the passengers of a private jet and winds up jumping out in a parachute. One of the victims tries to stop the robber from jumping out of the jet, but the victim unfortunately falls from the plane without a parachute.
Showrunner Matt Miller told TVLine last August that Pasdar’s character is actually a “con artist grafter,” adding that the episode’s case-of-the-week storyline involves “a father-daughter story.”
The synopsis confirms Miller’s tease, stating that that robbery “investigation turns into an ongoing hunt for an unreliable father, with his daughter being their main witness.”
Elsewhere in the episode, Murtaugh also faces hostility from his own daughter, Riana (Chandler Kinney), as he tries to connect with her.
Meanwhile, the episode marks the first appearance of Rex Linn as Riggs’ father, Nathan. As previously reported, the “CSI: Miami” alum will appear in multiple episodes of the new season in Texas-set flashback scenes alongside Chase Mangum, who will play a younger version of Riggs. The decision to explore the relationship between Riggs and his off-kilter dad is reportedly one of the show’s attempts to explain Riggs’ present-day issues.
Miller revealed to TVLine last August that it was John Lithgow who convinced him to recruit Linn to play the role of Riggs’ father. “[John] personally called me and said, ‘If you don’t hire Rex Linn, you’re crazy!” shared Miller, who worked with Lithgow in Season 1 of the NBC mockumentary “Trial & Error.” Lithgow and Linn, on the other hand, both starred in the 1993 thriller “Cliffhanger.”
“Lethal Weapon” Season 2, episode 4, titled “Flight Risk,” airs on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox. Check out the trailer as well as another promo clip for the episode featuring Bailey (Michelle Mitchenor) and her new partner Zach (Andrew Creer) below:
