Liam Hemsworth Has Another Lawsuit While Dealing With Divorce From Miley Cyrus?

Liam Hemsworth had been through so much over the past few months, especially with his split from former flame, Miley Cyrus, and thereafter, the divorce proceedings. Guess what though, here’s another legal issue that he could probably be facing.
Hemsworth, 29, might face a lawsuit for copyright infringement. E! News reported that they were able to get the documents indicating that Splash News and Picture Agency filing for the same, citing that an alleged photographer took series of snaps showing Hemsworth doing an outdoor scene on the production location of Netflix’s “Isn’t It Romantic,” which he stars together with Rebel Wilson and Priyanka Chopra.
The publication further reported that Hemsworth posted the said snap on his Instagram account on July 15, 2018. The film’s promotional page was reportedly tagged with the said photo in question. The news outlet further reported of the companies’ accusation against the “Hunger Games” actor —or a representative acting on his behalf— for posting the photograph again on his social media account’s story twice on June 20, 2019. Additionally, there was reportedly a swipe-up feature on the actor’s Instagram account urging people to vote for the film for the Teen Choice Movie Awards.
As a result, Hemsworth could be facing a $150,000 lawsuit. The retrieved document further claimed that the copy infringement done by the actor was willful, intentional and malicious; thus further subjecting him to liability for statutory damages pursuant to Section 504 (c)(2) of the Copyright Act. Amid all these, the publication reportedly attempted to contact Hemsworth’s reps for comment. Thus far, there were no response reported coming from the Australian actor’s camp.
Meanwhile, the divorce proceedings with his former wife, Cyrus, is not yet done. In fact, there were reports indicating that a court showdown between the Hollywood actors is a possibility and in preparation, Hemsworth reportedly retained a divorce lawyer.
Hemsworth has until January 21 organize this legal matter and formally present his divorce paper works. This information is according to the documents acquired by the Woman’s day, Daily Mail reported. Failing to comply with this might bring both Hemsworth and Cyrus on a head-on courtroom battle and get this, the actor might get a fine.
Needless to say, Hemsworth has nothing to worry about because he reportedly retained Laura Wasser, a high-profiled divorce attorney. The same lawyer was reportedly hired by other Hollywood personalities such as Johnny Depp, Ashton Kutcher and Ryan Reynolds.
Hemsworth and Cyrus announced their split in August. Following the leak of those controversial snaps involving Cyrus and former love, Kaitlynn Carter, the Aussie actor filed for a divorce.
