Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth Divorce Likely To Be Finalized Soon; Songstress Is Allegedly 'Devastated'
Liam Hemsworth pulled the plug on his marriage after photos of Miley Cyrus kissing Kaitlynn Carter while on a vacation in Italy in August spread like wildfire online. Reports have it that the snaps were the final straw for “The Hunger Games” actor. However, the “Hannah Montana” star was quick to defend herself and made it clear that cheating was not the primary cause of their split.
“I can admit to a lot of things, but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating,” Miley wrote on Twitter. “Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will. BUT at this point I had to make a healthy decision for myself to leave a previous life behind,” the Disney alum went on.
In the legal documents Liam filed in court, he cited “irreconcilable differences” as the main reason behind the divorce filing. TMZ, previously, reported that Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus’ divorce would be less complicated compared to other former Hollywood couples since they had a prenuptial agreement. Besides the fact that they have not children, the pair had agreed to keep their income separately during the marriage.
The Blast reported, in August, that Liam and Miley are hoping to have the divorced finalized by Halloween. However, up until now, it remains unclear if the former lovebirds have already reached a settlement.
Meanwhile, recent reports claimed that Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus appeared to unfollow each other on Instagram. Though no one really knows who unfollowed who first, the reports made rounds after the “Slide Away” songstress shared a clip of her alongside new boyfriend Cody Simpson dancing in her Nashville abode.
RadarOnline.com reported that Miley was "devastated" after learning that Liam unfollowed her as she, allegedly hoped they would still reconcile. However, this claim is unlikely to be true since the "When I Look At You" singer has clearly moved on with Cody already.
Interestingly, E! News shared that Liam is not the only ex Miley unfollowed lately. The “Wrecking Ball” singer also unfollowed Kaitlynn Carter on Instagram. The entertainment news outlet reported that that the last photo Miley liked from Kaitlynn’s page was a snap of their summer getaway.
Kaitlynn, recently, wrote a note for Elle, revealing that she fell in love with Miley Cyrus while they were still together. "Until that trip, it had never crossed my mind that I was even capable of loving a woman the way I loved her,” Brody Jenner’s ex-sweetheart wrote. “But after reflecting on my romantic history, I realized that I've never really had a 'type,'” she added.
