Liam Payne has come out to defend his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, from the accusations that she's a gold digger.
A day after Christmas, the former One Direction member took to his Instagram Stories to clap back at a troll who allegedly sent him a direct message warning him that his girlfriend was just with him for the money, The Blast reported.
The claim did not sit well with the 29-year-old singer, so he shared the private message and responded to it in his caption.
"Gotta say you could tell me anything and I couldn't be turned. I've never felt a love like I do for Katelyn. We make each other better people," Payne wrote.
"If it was just for the money, I'd give her all of it. It's not though (please remember I'm hella sexy) and I know I'm fun and a loveable [sic] person," he added.
Payne concluded his post by reiterating his happiness because he could be himself while dating the 23-year-old blonde beauty.
"I don't give a f—k to say that for the first time in my life I'm happy to be me and that's priceless," he wrote.
Though Payne insisted that he's never felt a love like the one he's sharing with Cassidy, it is worth noting that he was once engaged to his ex Maya Henry. He also has a son with his other ex, Cheryl, as pointed out by Daily Mail.
Payne and Cassidy's relationship first made headlines on Halloween when they stepped out in matching costumes. It wasn't really clear how the two met since the New Jersey native just settled in London at the end of summer.
Though their romance seems fairly new, with Capital FM reporting they officially started dating in October, the pair have been spotted together multiple times in recent months.
They also grabbed attention when they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the British Fashion Awards earlier this month.
Just seven months ago, the "Strip That Down" crooner called off his engagement with Henry amid his photo scandal when he was snapped getting handsy with another woman, identified as Aliana Mawla.
Shortly after the split, Payne and Mawla started dating. However, Mawla's rep insisted she was never the reason behind the singer and Henry's breakup.
Payne and Mawla called it quits in July.
