Lili Reinhart Joins List Of Celebs Advocating To Foster Animals During COVID-19
Lili Reinhart is not just an actress, she is also passionate about animal rescue. The “Riverdale” star joins the list of celebrities who have recently shared the call to action for those willing and able to foster or adopt a pet during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 23-year-old posted a variety of photos of herself with her newest family member, her dog Milo, on her Instagram Story on Tuesday.
“Consider fostering or adopting during this time if you can spare the extra expense of caring for a little furry friend,” Reinhart wrote on her post.
Reinhart’s dog was adopted through Furever Freed Dog Rescue in B.C., Canada, as reported by People. Reinhart introduced her new pet to her Instagram followers last month, writing, "This is my new baby. He has quickly become a great love of mine."
Like Reinhart, other celebrities, including Miley Cyrus, Emily Osment, Millie Bobby Brown and Reinhart’s “Riverdale” co-star Camila Mendes, have opened up in recent weeks about the importance of fostering and adopting animals.
On Monday, Osment and Cyrus discussed on Cyrus’s “Bright Minded: Live With Miley” talk show their belief that fostering and adopting pets is especially important during this time. The former co-stars spent a large portion of their interview talking about how some pet owners may find themselves financially incapable of taking care of a pet during the coronavirus outbreak due to job loss.
“I’m just excited that we could bring our puppies together and that we could, like, bring some awareness to people with puppies,” Cyrus said.
Mendes, meanwhile, posted an Instagram photo of herself with her dog Truffle earlier this week, saying she doesn’t know what she would do without her “quarantine companion,” and encouraging others to consider fostering or adopting while spending time at home. She tagged the Labelle Foundation in her post, the shelter where she rescued Truffle.
