Lily Collins shared how her on-screen portrayal of Emily Cooper's character in "Emily in Paris," had impacted her in real life too.

"I get called Emily all the time," she said during an interview with Porter, published Monday. "I respond to either one [Lily and Emily] now. I take it as a compliment."

The 33-year-old British-American actress has played the main character in the Netflix show since 2020 about a young American marketing assistant who gets sent to Paris to share her new perspective with the company's branch in France.

Collins explained how Emily's character creates an impact on her life. "She's somebody who is optimistic and solution-driven, and to play someone like Emily can give me a boost when I don't even know I need it," the actress said.

She added, "Just to be able to feel a sense of positivity; that's what Emily does for me."

The third season of the show will release on Netflix, on Dec. 21, next week. The successful series has already been renewed for a fourth season.

Collins further shared what viewers will get to see in the upcoming season. The actress explained that her character will "make the most of any situation, even if it's learning from a mistake."

"It's really important to be able to tap into yourself and to understand what you need and want. I would have encouraged her to remember that moment when she broke up with [her Chicago boyfriend] Doug, and to say, 'Remember when you chose yourself?'"

While the actress has high hopes for her on-screen character, in real life she admitted being an overthinker.

"I'm definitely someone who overthinks all the time. I've always been a real advocate of self-care, self-reflection, journaling, therapy – whatever it is that helps you center," Collins explained. "For me, there is so much of my life that's lived publicly, so I want to make sure that I can keep a balance. And not just for myself, but for my future family. And for my life."

Aside from "Emily in Paris," the actress will be next seen in a thriller movie, "Titan," which is helmed by director Austin Bunn. She will also feature in a drama based on circus life, titled "Halo of Stars," which is currently under post-production.
