Lindsay Lohan Pays Tribute To George Michael, Reveals ‘Careless Whisper’ Singer Wanted To Sing At Her Wedding
Lindsay Lohan joined the long list of celebrities who have expressed their grief over the death of pop star George Michael who passed away on Christmas Day at the age of 53.
In an Instagram post, Lohan extended her condolences to Michael’s family and paid tribute to the singer-songwriter whom she called a friend. In the caption for a photo of Michael, the “Mean Girl” actress also revealed that the “Careless Whisper” hitmaker once told her that he would like to sing at her wedding.
Michael’s longtime manager Michael Lippman confirmed that the two-time Grammy-winning recording artist died of heart failure on Sunday, Dec. 25.
“It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period,” the singer’s rep said in a statement to BBC. “The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage.”
While Michael had previously expressed his interest in singing at Lohan’s wedding, it seems that the “Parent Trap” actress isn’t walking down the aisle anytime soon.
Lohan became engaged to property businessman Egor Tarabasov at the start of the year. Their engagement and relationship, however, was believed to have ended last August when the pair had a very publicized fight in Mykonos, Greece, according to the Daily Mail.
Following his relationship with Tarabasov, Lohan was rumored to be dating her business partner Dennis Papageorgiou, which the “Confessions of a Broken Heart” singer quickly dismissed.
Most recently, Lohan was reported dating her manager Scott Carlsen. While details about their rumored romance are limited, the two were spotted out in Dubai earlier this month. According to the Daily Mail, Lohan and Carlsen were seen holding hands and being really affectionate with each other.
