  • Lindsay Lohan started modeling at age 3 and made her acting debut in 1996 when she was 10

  • Lohan will return to the screen this November after a nine-year break for a holiday-themed romantic comedy

Lindsay Lohan has been working in Hollywood since she was a child, but her current net worth is relatively small compared to other actors who also became popular in the early 2000s.

According to a Celebrity Net Worth estimate, the New York City-born actress, 36, is currently worth $1.5 million.

Lohan started modeling at age 3 and appeared in more than 60 TV commercials, including those for Pizza Hut, Wendy's and Jell-O, as a young child.

She made her acting debut in 1996 at 10 years old when she appeared as Ali Fowler on the long-running soap opera "Another World."

She appeared on that program for just a year. In 1997, she was cast in the lead role in the remake of the classic Disney movie "The Parent Trap."

Lohan went on to star in the made-for-TV movies "Life Size" in 2000 and "Get a Clue" in 2002 before starring in another remake of a classic Disney movie, 2003's "Freaky Friday."

Lohan rose to fame through the 2004 classic romantic comedy film, "Mean Girls," directed by Mark Waters and written by Tina Fey.

While acting, Lohan was simultaneously working on a music career, contributing tracks to her movies, "Freaky Friday" and "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen."

In December 2004, Lohan released her debut album, "Speak," which reached the No. 4 spot on the music charts. Her second album, "A Little More Personal," peaked at No. 20 on the charts when it was released in December 2005.

At the peak of her career, she earned around $28 million from movie salaries alone.

She matched her high earnings with an extremely expensive lifestyle. According to a 2013 Celebrity Net Worth report, she paid $8,000 a month renting a mansion in 2012, spent $40,000 at a tanning salon and racked up a $144,000 bill on a storage locker. On top of all that, she had an alleged $46,000 tab at Los Angeles' Chateau Marmont and a $90,000 limousine bill.

After 2007, her per-movie salary got smaller and smaller as she faced controversies that had a negative impact on her career and reputation.

She earned $550,000 for her 2003 film "Freaky Friday" and $1 million each for the 2004 films "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" and "Mean Girls."

After "Mean Girls," her salary increased. She reportedly earned $7.5 million for three movies from 2005 to 2007: "Herbie Fully Loaded," "Just My Luck" and "Georgia Rule."

However, Lohan earned just $300,000 for the 2012 film "Liz & Dick" and just over $6,000 for the 2013 film "The Canyons."

In 2013, the actress was convicted of reckless driving and was ordered to go to rehab and community service.

Lohan has not appeared in a movie since "The Canyons," according to IMDb.

But Lohan is set to return to the screen on Nov. 10, starring in a holiday-themed romantic comedy "Falling for Christmas" opposite "Glee" alum Chord Overstreet.

In the Netflix movie, she stars as a "newly engaged and spoiled hotel heiress who finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner," according to the streaming service.

It is not clear how much Lohan received in salary for the movie.
