Lionel Messi may have just dropped a huge hint regarding his possible transfer decision.

Despite impressively making Barcelona serious La Liga title contenders again this season, Messi’s future at Camp Nou remains uncertain. Recent reports have linked his name to a move to the U.S., particularly to Major League Soccer side Inter Miami CF.

Now, Messi's family has bought a $ 7.3 million property in Regalia, one of the most luxurious buildings in Florida's Sunny Isles, Miami Herald reported.

The Barcelona captain's father, Jorge, purchased the furnished apartment with 360-degree views, 511 square meters of indoor space and 195 square meters of terrace space, the report said.

Two years ago, Messi also bought a unit for $5 million in one of Miami’s luxury projects – the Porsche Design Tower, the outlet noted.

Messi’s latest investment had just added more intrigue to the rumors swirling around the sport that he is not ruling out a switch to MLS.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner’s current deal with Barcelona is set to expire this year, and ESPN journalist Christian Martin recently reported that Messi could later seek a move to the U.S., where he might consider joining Inter Miami.

"The Argentine star is evaluating FC Barcelona's proposal, to potentially go one or two years and then football in the United States, to MLS, where Inter Miami would be one of the potential destinations for Messi," Martin said.

Inter Miami president and co-owner David Beckham had earlier admitted that he would be pleased to have world-class players such as Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the MLS. In fact, Beckham is confident that luring the pair is “not a difficult” job.

“To be honest, it’s not a difficult pitch. You just say ‘Miami’ and they’re like, ‘okay!’” Beckham said of signing Messi and Ronaldo last month. “Without a doubt, those are the type of players that we aspire to bring to our club. I think that the fans would really appreciate that.”

“But, you know, as owners, we want players here that are driven, that want to win, and that’s our priority,” he explained. “With Blaise Matuidi and Gonzalo Higuain, these are players that we feel add to the glitz and the glamour of what the club is. Going forward, we also want to bring other players in if we have the opportunity to bring some great names in, you obviously mentioned Leo and Cristiano.”
