DirecTV Now Streaming Plan
The DirecTV Now plan for those looking to cut their cable bills includes live sports, more than 20,000 on demand shows, premium channels and movies. Among the live channels included in the service are ABC, AMC, BBC America, Bravo, Comedy Central, Discovery, Fox, Fox News Channel, FX, Hallmark Channel, HGTV, MSNBC, NBC, TBS and TNT.
There are four plans, varying from $35 to $70:
Live a Little – $35/month (60+ channels)
Just Right – $50/month (80+ channels)
Go Big – $60/month (100+ channels)
Gotta Have it – $70/month (120+ channels)
If you have a Roku TV but don’t have DirecTV, you can use the code ROKU1MONTH for a free one-month trial. After the month is up, you’ll be billed automatically $35 a month unless you cancel the plan. The offer ends on Aug. 31.
DirecTV Vs. Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV
YouTube TV
YouTube TV has about 40 channels and is priced at $35 a month. Among the channels on the plan are ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC, AMC, Bravo, Chiller, E!, Freeform, FX, Nat Geo, Nat Geo Wild, Oxygen, SyFy, Universal HD, USA, CNBC, Fox Business, Fox News, MSNBC and Disney Channel. The plan also recently added BBC America, Telemundo, AMC, SundanceTV and other channels to the list.

YouTube TV includes YouTube Red Originals. Showtime and Fox Soccer Plus are available as add-ons for a monthly charge of $11 and $15, respectively.
The streaming service is missing Turner and Viacom channels. Another downside is that the plan currently is available only in select U.S. cities.
Hulu Live TV
Hulu's live TV service includes more than 50 channels. The company made deals with 21st Century Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS, Turner Networks, A+E Networks and Scripps Networks for its $39.99 service. The TV plan, which launched in May, also includes Hulu’s premium streaming service, original series and films.
DirecTV, YouTube TV and Hulu’s plan are also competing against other options, including Netflix, HBO Now, Amazon Video and Sling TV. Comcast is expected to release its streaming service Xfinity Instant TV later this year, offering $15-$40 per month plans. Meanwhile, Twitter partnered with Bloomberg TV for original news content exclusively for the social media platform. Twitter also announced partnerships with BuzzFeed, Live Nation, the WNBA and others for live streaming.
