Liza Weil Finalizes Divorce From Paul Adelstein; Charlie Weber Relationship Strengthens
Liza Weil and Paul Adelstein’s divorce was recently finalized.
According to People, a judge signed the estranged couple’s divorce documents this week. Weil and Adelstein both appeared in ABC’s “Scandal,” but the actress gained more following when she portrayed the role of Bonnie in the network’s hit legal drama, “How to Get Away With Murder.”
Weil first filed for divorce from the “Prison Break” alum in March 2016 after nine years of marriage, but they first announced their separation in January 2016. Weil and Adelstein cited their irreconcilable differences as the main cause of their split. The couple wed in October 2006 and has been blessed with one daughter, Josephine, 7.
Meanwhile, Weil has moved on from Adelstein just months after their divorce filing. In June 2016, the same publication reported that the actress is dating her “How to Get Away With Murder” co-star, Charlie Weber. A month later, the 39-year-old actor opened up about their relationship on “Allegedly With Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss” podcast.
“I enjoy it quite a bit. We’re very like-minded when it comes to our approach to acting. We’re two actors who are very dedicated to what they do and have a very easy time separating who we are and who we are as characters,” he said.
According to Weber, his and Weil’s relationship just developed naturally while they were working on Shonda Rhimes’ TV series. “We were great friends and we found ourselves in a position to be more than that. You spend a lot of time together and we, I very much enjoyed spending time away from work and so it all just kind of came together like that… I’m very happy,” he shared.
Weber was also previously married to his ex-wife, Giselle, for one year before filing for divorce in 2016, according to US Weekly. In “How to Get Away With Murder,” Weber plays the role of Frank Delfino. The character shares multiple scenes with Weil’s Bonnie.
“How to Get Away With Murder” Season 4 airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
