‘Lucifer’ Season 3: Charlotte Tries To Hook Up With Her ‘Son’ Lucifer
“Lucifer” Season 3, episode 5 will see the return of the real Charlotte Richards (Tricia Helfer).
The character was last seen in the finale episode for Season 2 when Lucifer (Tom Ellis) asked his mom to return to heaven. At that time, the real Charlotte woke up in the middle of the dessert without any clue that Lucifer’s mom took over her body.
In the teaser released by Fox for “Welcome Back, Charlotte Richards,” a feisty Charlotte surprises everyone when they find out that she is connected to this week’s case. In the clip, Charlotte takes out a gun and places it on the table, seemingly suggesting that she could be a new “big bad.”
But in a more shocking scene, Charlotte flirts with Lucifer and starts kissing him despite the lead character calling her “mom.” After all, Charlotte still has no idea that Lucifer’s mom used her body while she was on Earth. Charlotte is attracted to Lucifer especially after her marriage failed.
However, when Lucifer’s mom was still using her body, she was attracted to Chloe’s (Lauren German) ex-husband, Dan (Kevin Alejandro).
Last month, executive producer Ildy Modrovich spoke with Entertainment Weekly about Charlotte’s fate in the upcoming installments. According to her, Charlotte will struggle with her identity.
“She wasn’t the best person she was on Earth. She wasn’t a great mom, she was helping criminals gets free with zero guilt. She’s haunted by where she’s been, because for three months, she was hanging out in the bad place, so she doesn’t know if that was real, she doesn’t know was she in a walking coma? But she knows that she’s going to do everything she can not to go back,” she said.
Mom may also return in the near future, in the world that was created in the finale last season. But according to showrunner Joe Henderson, nothing has been finalized yet. “If we can figure out a way to make it work, we’d love to see it. We have no plans yet,” he said.
“Lucifer” Season 3 will air on Fox on Monday at 8 p.m. EDT.
