‘As Luck Would Have It’ Hallmark Movie Premiere: Trailer, Synopsis, Cast
Hallmark fans will get a little luck of the Irish as the network continues its Spring Fling slate of movies, with the newest premiere, “As Luck Would Have It,” starring JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Allan Leech.
The film will be a treat for fans, not just because of its on-location setting in Ireland, but also because this will be the first time they get introduced to both Garcia Swisher and Leech in a Hallmark film, with this marking both their first projects here. Of course, both are also likely recognizable for their other work, with Leech holding a role in “Bohemian Rhapsody” and likely being recognized as Tom Branson from “Downton Abbey.”
As for Garcia Swisher, in recent years fans may recognize her as Maddie from the Netflix show “Sweet Magnolias,” or her roles as Ariel on “Once Upon A Time” and Amy on “Kevin (Probably) Saves The World.” She may also be well recognized for her roles as Parker in the former ABC Family’s film “Revenge of the Bridesmaids,” Lifetime’s “A Very Merry Daughter of the Bride” or as Cheyenne Hart-Montgomery on “Reba.”
What else will delight fans in this film? According to the synopsis, the story is also sure not to disappoint.
“Lindsey Johnson (Swisher) is sent to a coastal town in Ireland for work, tasked with acquiring a valuable piece of land to develop into a hotel resort. The only catch is the 14th-century castle sitting on it is managed by the town council—they won’t sell to anyone who wants to tear it down, much less to a stranger who doesn’t understand the town,” the synopsis reads.
Among those standing in Lindsey’s way and refusing to change their thoughts about it is Brennan O’Brien (Leech)--and Lindsey soon realizes she needs to prove herself if she wants to convince everyone to see things her way.
“While Lindsey is there, the town’s annual, world-renowned matchmaking festival filled with local activities is taking place,” the synopsis states. “Seeing this as a chance to prove her investment to the town—and Brennan—Lindsey signs up even though the last thing she’s looking for is a love connection.”
However, her participation in the festival quickly leads Lindsey down an unexpected path, and soon enough, she finds herself committed to something more than her original plans.
“After non-stop days of soda-bread baking, knitting classes and a trip to the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher, Lindsay finds herself falling for the town as well as for Brennan,” the synopsis says, “Now committed to saving the castle, her career and a new chance at love, Lindsey will need more than just a little luck.”
“As Luck Would Have It” airs Saturday, April 10 at 9 p.m. EDT on Hallmark Channel.
