LulzSec Set Up Hotline, Took Caller Requests for Hacks
Hacking group LulzSec set up a hotline at 646-LULZ-SEC (585-9732). When called, it goes to the voicemail of a character named Pierre Dubois. Two versions of the voicemail recording are shown in the video below.
LulzSec claims the hotline has received 5,000 missed calls and 2,500 voicemails as of Tuesday evening.
The group is taking requests, or websites callers want LulzSec to hack, via the number. It claims to have fulfilled 8 caller hack requests on Tuesday.
Ever since LulzSec first gained infamy by placing a phony story of Tupac being dead on PBS, it has kept itself busy; it has subsequently targeted Sony, an FBI affiliate, a cybersecurity consulting firm, and a porn website.
On Titanic Take-down Tuesday, it launched DDoS attacks against Escapist Magazine, Eve Online, Minecraft, and League of Legends, in addition to the 8 caller requests.
These targets were gaming websites, which understandably angered many gamers, including those from 4chan's /b/ imageboard.
