Following her divorce to Amazon (AMZN) CEO Jeff Bezos, MacKenzie Bezos has amassed a fortune worth $36.6 billion. On Tuesday, MacKenzie committed to donating half her wealth to charity through the Giving Pledge, which was started by Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates in 2010.

MacKenzie left Jeff with 75 percent of their Amazon stock and all interests in The Washington Post and Blue Origin through their divorce. She now ranks No. 22 on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Jeff ranks No. 1 with a net worth of $114 billion.

MacKenzie joins 203 other people that have committed their wealth to the Giving Pledge. These individuals have pledged to give half of the wealth over their lifetime or in their will to charitable causes. A total of 23 countries are represented by the people that have committed to the Giving Pledge.

In a letter announcing her commitment to the Giving Pledge, MacKenzie said, “We each come by the gifts we have to offer by an infinite series of influences and lucky breaks we can never fully understand.

“In addition to whatever assets life has nurtured in me, I have a disproportionate amount of money to share. My approach to philanthropy will continue to be thoughtful. It will take time and effort and care. But I won’t wait. And I will keep at it until the safe is empty,” she added.

Jeff has not committed to the Giving Pledge himself but did support MacKenzie on with her decision. In a tweet, he wrote, “MacKenzie is going to be amazing and thoughtful and effective at philanthropy, and I’m proud of her. Her letter is so beautiful. Go get ‘em MacKenzie.”

Shares of Amazon stock were up 0.85 percent as of 10:28 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
