Mackenzie Standifer Secretly Slams ‘Narcissists’ After Ryan Edwards Rehab Stint
“Teen Mom OG” stars Mackenzie Standifer and Ryan Edwards are newlyweds, but they haven’t gotten a chance to enjoy their honeymoon. The couple took to social media over the weekend to hurl insults after Edwards was released from rehab. Previously, it was revealed he struggled with an addiction to pain pills.
Standifer made her account private after the public discovered her husband’s stint in rehab, but she boasts more than 10,000 followers. “You can only act like a piece of shit for so long before it all comes out in the wash. #NarcissistAwarenessMonth,” she wrote Sunday, pinning it to the top of her Twitter page.
Standifer then retweeted some messages from her followers. “Pray the fakes get exposed,” one said. “When people show you their true colors it's the biggest blessing in disguise,” another person added.
The new Mrs. Standifer also shared a message from Sports Illustrated model Chrissy Teigen that read, “People get SO mad so quickly on twitter that I literally do not think they know what they're mad about.”
Without any context, it’s unclear who Standifer took aim at. However, after the fiery Instagram post her husband wrote, the message might have been directed at Edwards’ ex, Maci Bookout.
Edwards, 32, posted a meme of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that read: “I have a dream that one day my psycho baby’s mam will shut the f--- up.”
The MTV reality star made his Instagram page private, so it was immediately unclear if the post remained. Starcasm, however, took a screenshot of the image 9 minutes after Edwards posted it.
Bookout was the first person to publicly address Edwards’ addiction during Season 7 of “Teen Mom OG.” “I’m going to be like, you have to go to rehab,” she told her husband, Taylor McKinney, during one episode. “Right now it’s about saving his life. Most nights I’m crying in our bed talking to you about whether or not today is the day he’s going to die.”
Aside from Edwards’ health, she was worried how safe their son Bentley was in their care. She reportedly talked to a counselor to get advice, saying that she might limit the amount of time Edwards could spent with their son fi he didn’t seek treatment.
“Yeah, I’m hoping it doesn’t get to that point but that would be the ultimatum,” she said. “The other aspect is if I’m limiting access to him, I’m also going to have to do that with his parents because they are the sole caregivers of his son when he’s with his dad.”

Dalis Connell, an ex-girlfriend of Edwards, took Radar Online last week that he started to take Oxycodone in 2012. “One of his friends was on pills and he tried it one night when we first started dating,” she said. “He started taking those while I was in class. I ran track in college and would be gone all day and he was bored.”
She didn’t know about his addiction until one of her co-workers opened her eyes. “I have never been around drugs use so I didn’t know the symptoms,” she said. “I was working and my co-worker asked if Ryan takes anything. She was like, ‘I went to rehab and he fidgets and scratches and has all the signs of someone using.’ I didn’t believe her.”
