Mad Men’s Jon Hamm Owns Four Eagles, 'Hell of a Nice Guy' in Esquire Profile

Mad Men's Jon Hamm owns four eagles. That's how the Jon Hamm profile in the March 2012 issue of Esquire begins. It specifies that he owns four species: golden, tawny, Spanish Imperial and short-toed snake.

The interview touches on several subjects including his past, being the voice of a navigation system and they type of bed he sleeps on.

Early in the article, Hamm writes to Tom Chiarella this:

I left St. Louis with $150 in my pocket and a wallet full of dangerously overdrawn credit cards. I drove out from St. Louis over the course of four or five days (staying on friends' couches in various western states, as well as on the side of the road in Carlin, Nevada) in a 1986 Toyota Corolla that would regularly blow a radiator-fan fuse and overheat.

As is the case with many of the most famous Esquire profiles, Chiarella hangs out with Hamm for the afternoon, observing his every move and documenting the details of all his mannerisms.

In the end, Chiarella's impressions of Hamm can be boiled down to one point. He writes, Jon Hamm is a hell of a nice guy.
