Maddie Ziegler Stars In Sia’s ‘Cheap Thrills’ Music Video After Announcing ‘Dance Moms’ Exit
Maddie Ziegler and Sia have reunited for another exciting music video. The 13-year-old dancer is front and center in Sia’s “Cheap Thrills” video, from her latest LP, “This Is Acting.”
Sia first teased Maddie’s involvement last week, posting a screenshot from the video and tweeting, “Guess who’s back?” On Monday, she released the full video, which features Maddie wearing a nude leotard and black and blond wig as she dances to the song alongside two male dancers.
The Lifetime reality star posted a clip of the video on her Instagram page, writing, “Hope you like it as much as I do.”
The young dancer also starred in Sia’s “Chandelier” in 2014 and the singer’s “Elastic Heart” and “Big Girls Cry” the following year. Maddie is also expected to star in the film “Sister,” written and to be directed by the 40-year-old singer.
“She’s literally the sweetest person ever,” Maddie recently told “Entertainment Tonight” about the singer. “I feel like I’m just so comfortable with her every time I’m with her. I never feel like, ‘Oh my God, I’m hanging out with a celebrity.’ ... She’s the most humble person and so caring, and she like, cooks for me! She’s such an amazing person.”
Maddie’s latest project comes just days after she confirmed she’s quitting “Dance Moms” to pursue other opportunities, including a judging gig on the upcoming season of “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation.” Speaking to reporters at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards, she said: “I am leaving, but it’s a good thing because we’re moving on to cool things.”
As previously reported, Maddie, her 11-year-old sister, Mackenzie Ziegler, and their mom, Melissa Gisoni, all filmed their final scene for “Dance Moms” at New York Dance Experience in Riverside, California, last month.
