Maggie Grace Engaged To Matthew Cooke; Does She Want To Elope?

Maggie Grace is officially off the market. The “Taken 3” actress announced her engagement to Matthew Cooke on Instagram Wednesday. Shortly after the announcement, she went to Global Green USA’s pre-Oscar party to gush about her ring.

“It’s an antique. It’s from 1810,” Grace, 31, told USA Today. Though her Instagram filter washes out the color, pictures at the Daily Mail reveal that the ring features a large yellow diamond surrounded by smaller white diamonds.

Cooke is a writer and a director. In 2013, he made his directorial debut with a film he wrote called "How to Make Money Selling Drugs." He won the best writing award from the International Documentary Association as well as several audience choice awards, according to his website.

When Grace shared the news on social media, she quoted another writer, Persian poet Rumi. “The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers do not finally meet somewhere. They are in each other all along,” she wrote under a picture that shows off her ring.

“Matthew Cooke & I are so excited to share our engagement with you guys!” Grace added. “I could not feel more grateful to share my life with this incredible man.”

Grace posted a second picture on Instagram showing Cooke dipping her. “Since we've got the photo thing covered, should we just elope?!” Grace asked.

It seems like she was just joking. She told USA Today that she hadn’t set a date yet. “We’re just enjoying being engaged,” Grace said.

The engagement announcement may come as a surprise to some of the “Lost” star’s fans. The usually private actress hadn’t posted pictures of her boyfriend on Instagram before, and it isn’t known how long she has been together with Cooke.

Other “Lost” fans might be a bit disappointed that Grace isn’t with her former co-star and ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder, whom she dated in 2006. Rumors of the two getting back together started flying last spring when Grace posted a picture on social media of Somerhalder kissing her head during a “Lost” reunion. However, now that Somerhalder is engaged to Nikki Reed and Grace is engaged to Cooke, a rekindled romance seems unlikely.
