Angelina Jolie had a “few rough years” despite her recent big projects. Her personal life has been the stuff of news since 2017, with reports of the actress splitting from Brad Pitt to the struggles she’s had with their six children.

The actress also had to contend with alleged news about her health slowly failing (mentally and physically.) This, however, has only pushed her to be stronger, she shared. Jolie was spotted at the D23 Expo recently as part of the cast of Marvel’s “The Eternals.” It was also there that she shared about her current struggles.

Jolie explained that the past few years were tough on her and she hasn't been feeling strong lately. It was during these moments that she had to push herself.

"I'm like everybody and ... especially these last few years haven't been the easiest, and I haven't felt very strong," Jolie told E! News.

"There's something when you're not feeling very strong, where you push yourself."

She also said that her latest characters -- her “Eternals” on-screen persona and “Maleficent” -- helped her cope with the struggles and taught her to “pull out” all the strength she can. Jolie returned as the fairy Maleficent in “Maleficent 2” while she plays the superhero Thena in “The Eternals.”

Pitt and Jolie ended their marriage in 2016 after two years. The couple had been together for 12 years prior to their marriage. After their split, the stars had to face each other in court for the custody of their six children.

In “The Eternals,” Jolie’s character Thena is a superhero with exceptional skills. Her durability, strength, speed, stamina, and reflexes are better than the average human. Set a million years ago, the latest Marvel movie will reportedly differ in a lot of areas from their most recent four-film series, “The Avengers.”

Jolie is lucky to have these films to distract and inspire her at the same time. She also shared that she had to train most of the time to stay positive and healthy in-character. Her character’s aggressiveness pushed her to be her best self, she added.

Earlier this week, the actress was seen accompanying her son, Maddox, to South Korea. Maddox will be attending biochemistry classes in Yonsei University.
