‘Mama June: Road To Redemption’ Spoilers: Is Josh Efird Losing His Job After Family Fight?

Josh Efird is going to face consequences after the nasty family fight that ensued at his and wife Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon’s daughter Ella Grace’s third birthday party.

In a sneak peek released Thursday for the upcoming episode of “Mama June: Road to Redemption,” the 24-year-old soon-to-be father of two could be seen having a tense discussion with his employer, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, about his job.

“How do you expect me to give you your job back after yesterday,” Sugar Bear, 49, asked Josh at the start of the clip.

Josh then admitted to his boss, who also happens to be the father of his 15-year-old sister-in-law Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, that he, too, was surprised when Mama June, 41, and the latter’s boyfriend Geno Doak, 45, showed up at the party.

“If I can be completely honest, I didn't know that June and Geno were even coming. I'm kind of pissed that they showed up out of nowhere,” Josh said in the video.

Pumpkin’s husband went on to explain that he did try to call Sugar Bear “at least 20 times” just to inform him that Mama June and Geno were there to prevent any disagreements from happening.

But that did not happen, as seen in the previous episode when Mama June got extremely mad at Sugar Bear’s wife, Jennifer Lamb Thompson, and her own daughter, Pumpkin. The controversial matriarch was infuriated at the thought that Pumpkin told Jennifer about her second pregnancy but not her.

However, leading up to that moment, it was clear that Pumpkin did not actually tell Jennifer about her pregnancy. Jennifer only found out about it from Sugar Bear, who learned it through Josh when the latter asked him for a job. Jennifer apparently tricked Mama June to spite her, and it worked.

Before the episode ended, Mama June and even Honey Boo Boo expressed how disappointed and mad they were at Pumpkin for confiding in someone else about her pregnancy instead of her own family.

In the new teaser, Sugar Bear told Josh that after what happened at the party, Jennifer would be mad at him if he were to keep Josh. The younger man then pleaded his case by pointing out that Pumpkin would be upset if he were to lose his job amid her second pregnancy.

Josh also argued that he and Sugar Bear should not let the tension between the women in their family get in the way of their harmonious relationship as boss and employee and as friends.

“But that's women, you know what I'm saying? That ain't us. I don't see us out here b---hing and arguing like women,” he said before noting that Sugar Bear won’t be able to find an employee better than him.

In a confessional, Sugar Bear admitted that he kept Josh because he is such “a good guy” and because Josh’s family now includes his own daughter, Honey Boo Boo, who has been under Pumpkin’s care ever since Mama June walked away from them in 2019.
