Mama June’s Nemesis Jennifer ‘Truly Cares’ For Alana’s Mom Amid Backlash

Jennifer Lamb Thompson has made it clear that she “truly cares” for Mama June Shannon even though they didn’t see eye to eye in the past. She also asked fans of their reality show to pray for the troubled matriarch amid this difficult time.

Ahead of the finale of “Mama June: From Not To Hot” Season 3 that was aired last Friday, Jennifer took to Instagram to share a snap she took with Mama June and the show’s producer Gina Rodriguez. In the picture, Mama June is seen playfully sticking her tongue out toward Gina, who is standing in between Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s mother and Jennifer.

“This photo shows June’s fun personality. When we took this photo it was earlier in the season and everything was good or at least we thought,” Jennifer captioned her post. “June and I may have had our differences in the past but I truly care about this woman and her family. This has been a difficult time and I ask that you keep Miss June in your prayers.”

Aside from being Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson’s new wife, Jennifer was also portrayed as the nemesis of Mama June on the WE tv reality show. In the recently concluded season, the two of them even had a weight loss showdown before things turned for the worse for Mama June, who got into trouble with her ex-convict lover, Geno.

Mama June and Geno were apparently arrested for drug-related charges two days before the series premiered in March. Things have been very difficult for the family since then, with Mama June choosing Geno over her children, leaving 13-year-old Alana without a legal guardian.

In the finale, it was revealed that Mama June’s 21-year-old daughter, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, was granted temporary custody over her younger sister. But prior this, Sugar Bear and Jennifer tried to step in and attempted to gain custody over the former “Toddlers & Tiaras” star. Their move was met with a lot of backlash from fans who were rooting for Pumpkin to be Alana’s legal guardian.

Many fans slammed Jennifer and Sugar Bear on Twitter. One user pointed out how Jennifer used to be the one who was so eager to prove that Alana wasn’t her husband’s daughter. Another called out Jennifer for disrespecting Mama June while the latter was clearly down. Others expressed their anger toward Sugar Bear for not caring about Alana for many years until the controversy blew up.
