Man Allegedly Rapes 2-Year-Old Daughter After Barging Into Ex-Wife's House; Charged

In a shocking incident, a man has been charged after he allegedly barged into his ex-wife's house and raped their two-year-old daughter.

The heinous crime was reported in the North Indian state of Haryana. Though the incident allegedly happened on Aug. 28, the victim's mother approached police Tuesday, reported The Times Of India.

Reports said the victim's mother and the accused hail from the neighboring state of Bihar. The couple arrived in Haryana two years ago with their newborn baby. However, their marriage ended soon after they began to have frequent arguments. In August 2021, the woman separated from him and married another man. However, the accused continued to harass her.

On Aug. 28, the mother and the child were inside their rented apartment when the accused barged into the house. The duo was alone in the apartment when the incident happened.

The accused subdued the woman physically before pushing her outside the apartment and locking himself inside. Though the woman kept banging on the door, the man refused to let her in.

In her complaint, the woman said the man opened the door after some time. "After some time, he opened the door and threatened to kill me if I told anyone about it. My daughter was crying, she was lying on the floor and bleeding from her private parts, the woman alleged.

The panicked mother immediately called her relative in Delhi and narrated the incident. After the initial shock wore out, they decided to approach the police against the man. On Aug. 30, along with her cousin and husband, she filed a complaint.

A case was registered Tuesday against the accused for rape and intimidation. However, it is not clear if the man has been arrested or not.

A similar case was reported recently in India wherein a 7-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 62-year-old grandfather, her uncle and teenage cousin. Police said the girl, who lived with her mother, came to her grandfather's house after he visited them last week. The elderly man had then urged the mother to send the child with him for a few days. He promised to take care of her but went on to rape her. Though she tried to seek help from the family, her 42-year-old uncle and 17-year-old cousin too assaulted her.
