Man Allegedly Rapes Daughter And Nephew, Continues The Abuse Even After Being Caught

A 40-year-old man has been arrested in India for allegedly raping his 8-year-old daughter and 7-year-old nephew. He reportedly continued abusing the girl even after his mother caught him in the act.

The unidentified man from Nagpur, a city in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, has been accused of raping the girl and the boy multiple times for around two weeks. He took turns in abusing the children while he was alone with them, police said as per The Times of India.

The alleged abuse came to light Friday after the man's mother walked in on him as he was forcing himself on the girl. The woman also saw the boy watching in horror, scared that it would be his turn afterward. According to the police, the man continued raping the girl even after his mother raised an alarm.

The mother eventually took the girl to a police station and registered a complaint against her son.

"The man started raping his daughter in the second week of September. He would both exploit the boy and girl in turns," an investigating officer said, as reported by the outlet.

Members of India's Child Welfare Committee gave the children counseling to help them cope with the trauma.

The police arrested the suspect on multiple charges, including rape and sexual abuse of minor and unnatural sex with a minor as per the news outlet News Tree. He was produced before a court Saturday and has been remanded in custody.

The suspect was previously booked on charges of assault and theft, based on court reports. He reportedly begged on the streets while posing as a transgender.

Moreover, his mother told the police his wife left him seven years ago. She said he was also the reason why his elder brother's wife left the residence.

Earlier this month, an Ohio man pleaded guilty to raping and murdering his 10-year-old son after abusing the boy for years. Al-Mutahan McLean, of Dayton, admitted torturing his son after locking up the boy naked in the attic of his house. The boy was found unresponsive and pronounced dead on Dec. 13, 2019. An autopsy revealed the child died of blunt force trauma in combination with compressive asphyxia and submersion in water in a bathtub. An investigation determined that the child, who also had multiple cuts and bruises on his body, was brutally raped on the day he died.
