Man Bludgeons Wife, 2 Minor Daughters And Their Teacher, Stuffs Her Body Inside Bed Box

A man has been on the run after he allegedly murdered his wife, two minor daughters and their teacher, police said.

The incident happened in Jharkhand, an eastern state of India. The police identified the suspect as 42-year-old Deepak Kumar, who has allegedly bludgeoned his 36-year-old wife and two daughters aged 10 and 15 Sunday.

Initial investigation revealed that Kumar reportedly drank alcohol before the murders. The police believe that he has bludgeoned his family using a hammer before suffocating the victims with a pillow, local news outlet Hindustan Times reported.

The investigators have determined that he has murdered the 21-year-old teacher who was his daughters' private tutor in the same manner Monday. The teacher’s half-naked body was found stuffed inside a bed box with her hands tied. The police are awaiting an autopsy report to determine whether she was raped before she was murdered.

After the alleged murders, Kumar invited his friend's family and the latter’s brother-in-law for dinner. He then reportedly attacked them using the same hammer. The friend’s wife, who managed to escape the attack, raised the alarm about the incident. The two victims were then rushed to a hospital, where the friend remains in critical condition.

Kumar fled from his house after the alleged murders using his brother-in-law’s motorcycle, Times Now News reported. His mobile has been switched off since Monday afternoon. The relatives then broke into his house and discovered the four dead bodies.

The police have not determined the exact motive behind the murders. “Forensic evidence is being collected and the motive of such gruesome killings is being investigated,” Tamil Vanan, Senior Police Superintendent, said.

The police also said that Kumar has visited his father-in-law between the alleged murders and took back his wife’s jewelry that she had kept there for safe custody.

In a similar incident this month, a 25-year-old man from the western Indian state of Rajasthan has bludgeoned his mother and brother to death while they were asleep. The man identified as Amarchad Jangid was taken into custody for the alleged murders. The initial investigation could not determine the exact motive behind the murders. Jangid also reportedly attacked three other family members and a neighbor when they tried to restrain him.
