Man Charged With Having Sex With Pit Bull, Gerardo Perez Caught At Chicago Animal Shelter [PHOTO]
A Chicago man who was on a tour of a local animal shelter has been charged with having sex with a pit bull. Gerardo Perez, 50, was found on his hands and knees in a cage next to the dog, prosecutors said.
Perez allegedly broke off from a group tour of the Chicago Animal Care and Control Facility. He was later found by an employee in a restricted area of the shelter next to a white and grey pit bull after reportedly having sex with it. He then made "inculpatory statements regarding sexual conduct with the dog" to the shelter’s employees, NBC Chicago reports.
Perez faces a felony charge of having sexual conduct with an animal and burglar, Chicago Tribune reports. His bail was set to $80,000.
This isn’t the first incident of a human getting too friendly with a dog.
A Maryland teacher was charged with bestiality after images emerged showing the 45-year-old woman having sex with the family dog. Stephanie Mikles, 45, allegedly had “sexual intercourse with the dog” over a month-long period in August 2008, ABC News reports.
Mikles was caught by police after they searched her home on an unrelated charge and found the incriminating images. Since there is no statute of limitations for the crime in Maryland, she was arrested earlier this year. If convicted, Mikles faces up to 10 years in prison, Harford County State's Attorney Joseph Cassilly told the Baltimore Sun.
