A man was stabbed to death by a neighbor for complaining about loud music. The incident took place at an apartment complex in Goiás, Brazil, on Sunday.

According to local reports, the victim, identified as 37-year-old Helenildo Alves dos Santos, knocked on the accused's, 35-year-old João Roberto Penna Pereira, apartment early Sunday to complain about loud music. As soon as Pereira opened the door, Santos allegedly punched the former in front of his wife and son. That was when Pereira asked his wife to call the police before confronting Santos with a knife. He then stabbed him with it.

The residents of the complex called the paramedics who arrived at the scene and took Santos to a nearby hospital where he died during treatment.

CCTV footage showed the two men confronting each other in the corridor. Santos can be seen running away as Pereira stabs him on his arm and back. Santos reaches the other end of the corridor and continues to shout at the accused even as he bleeds profusely. Pereira approaches him again and the two men argue for a few more minutes.

Meanwhile, the accused was detained for questioning and later released. It was not known if any charges were filed against the accused.
