The Tappan Zee Bridge is the host to an incident that is backing up traffic for miles.
For several hours, an unidentified man has been hanging off of the bridge carrying a sign.
The sign says Rockland Executive Legislature Coverup Retaliation. There are no other reports about what the man is referring to or what he wants.
On Twitter, people have been associating the man with the Occupy Wall Street movement, however, police officials are unsure about the identity of this man, or what exactly he wants.
Around 10:45 a.m. Eastern time, the unidentified man got out of his vehicle and thrusted himself over the railing. Two lanes of traffic are now closed causing bumper-to-bumper traffic.
ABC News reported that the man is wearing an American flag bandanna. He also removed a long-sleeve shirt and is apparently sipping something out of a thermis.
We don't know who he is, said a spokesman for the Rockland County executive, C. Scott Vanderhoef, according to NBC. We hope he comes down and tells the county executive or the legislature what is of concern to him.
The man is dangling roughly halfway between the water and the bridge.
