Man Kidnaps, Murders 8-Year-Old Boy For Exposing His Affair With Child's Mother

An 8-year-old boy was kidnapped and murdered by his mother's boyfriend after the child told his father about the man's illicit affair with his mother, police said Friday.

The unidentified minor boy went missing from his house in Thane, a city in the western Indian state of Maharashtra on Thursday. Police arrested 21-year old Jitendra Maddheshiya after the child's body was recovered from a vacant flat in the same building Friday, The Times of India reported.

An investigation revealed that Maddheshiya, who worked as a cook with the victim's family, was fired from his job after the child's father came to know about his illicit relationship with his wife.

"After registering a murder case on Friday late night when we began to probe we came to know that recently child's father had asked Maddheshiya to stop working as a cook, " a senior police officer told the outlet.

During interrogation, Maddheshiya admitted to murdering the child after the boy told his father about the affair, Times Now News reported. "The accused said that he was unhappy with the child had exposed his relationship with his mother, to his father who had laid off him from work after learning about same," the officer added.

Recently, a woman and her boyfriend were arrested in India for allegedly murdering her 5-year-old son after the boy accidentally discovered that they were having an affair. The child, identified as Hardik Patel, went missing from Ahmedabad, a city in the western Indian state of Gujarat, almost three years back. Hardik's mother, Jyotsna Patel, and his father's younger brother, Ramesh Patel, were arrested this month after they reportedly confessed to killing the boy. The duo said they strangled the child to death after the boy happened to walk in while they were having sex. After murdering the child, they tried to burn his body and later threw his half-burned body parts in a canal. Both suspects were booked under murder and criminal conspiracy charges.
