Man Kills Infant Daughter, Buries Body In Riverbed Suspecting Wife's Fidelity
A man killed his infant daughter suspecting his wife’s fidelity. The incident took place in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
The incident came to light after the mother of the child started searching for the baby when she did not find her at home Friday morning. The woman approached the police when she couldn't find the three-month-old baby. A police complaint was filed.
During investigation, the police questioned the father of the child, identified as Rajendra, who admitted to killing his daughter and burying her body in the riverbed. The man then took the officers to the spot and the body was dug out.
Investigation revealed that since the time the child was born, the accused had been fighting with his wife claiming that the infant did not belong to him. Following the confession, Rajendra was arrested and remained in custody as of Sunday. Meanwhile, the charges levied against the accused were not known.
The incident comes a few months after a man in the southern Indian state of Telangana killed his wife and children suspecting her of having an affair. Praveen Kumar began harassing his wife a few months before killing her, suspecting her fidelity. On the day of the incident, the couple got into an argument during which the accused killed his wife. He then decided to jump in front of a train but changed his mind and instead decided to kill his two children - nine-year-old son and five-year-old daughter - before surrendering to the police.
