A man killed eight people in an Omaha, Nebraska mall on Wednesday afternoon before killing himself, according to a report.

The shooting took place at Westroads Mall in the Von Maur store at the shopping center. Five others were wounded, police told CNN.

The number of shots fired varied from 20 to 40 according to witnesses in the report

I heard three loud pops, mall employee Charissa Tatoon told CNN.

Employees and shoppers were walking out of the building with their hands up. Meanwhile, people gathered outside the mall, checking on others still believed to be inside.
