A search was underway for a man who stabbed a teen girl during a fight with her friends. The incident took place in Bronx, New York, on Jan.31.

According to local reports, the 13-year-old girl was with her friends when they got into an argument with the unknown man on the street after he bumped into one of the teens. When the fight escalated, the girl and her friends began to physically attack the man. Suddenly, the man took out a knife and stabbed the girl several times in her torso and neck.

Meanwhile, a CCTV footage of the incident obtained by NBC New York showed the accused confronting the large group of teenagers. Suddenly, the man is pushed to the ground by the teens. He, however, manages to get up. The man then pulls out a knife and stabs the girl.

The girl was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in a serious condition with puncture wounds. Meanwhile, the man fled the scene in her scooter.

Police described the accused as a male Hispanic last seen wearing all dark clothing and a red cap. He is in his 20s or 30s. Police were seeking public help to catch the man and have asked anyone with any information to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-8477. The girl remained stable.
