  • Manchester United's newest signing Amad Diallo completes his move to Old Trafford
  • A scout from Man United has revealed what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have planned for Diallo
  • Solskjaer ensures the team will be patient with the 18-year-old winger's progress

Manchester United may have revealed its frontline strategy involving two of the club’s highly-rated youngsters.

Along with Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles, Amad Diallo was also signed by Manchester United in October. The £37 million ($50 million) signing from Atalanta had to wait until earlier this month before completing his move to Old Trafford but is now officially included in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.

Ahead of Diallo’s highly-anticipated English Premier League debut, the Red Devils appear to have already planned what would be the winger’s role in the club’s stacked roster.

According to an unnamed scout inside Manchester United’s team, the idea is to have Diallo and Mason Greenwood lead the attacking department which is expected to give defenders a “nightmare.”

“A future attack involving Mason Greenwood and Amad Diallo, each equally comfortable using both feet, would be a nightmare for defenders,” the scout recently told The Athletic.

Indeed, Greenwood has already made his mark on Solskjaer’s side and is now a regular in the first team.

Diallo, on the other hand, just made five senior appearances for Atalanta, two of which came in the latest season.

However, the Manchester United boss remains optimistic about Diallo’s potential, having monitored the Ivorian’s progress for quite some time.

"He’s a young boy who we’ve watched for a few years,” Solskjaer recently said of Diallo. “We’ve seen him here play in the UEFA Youth League for the kids. He’s got special abilities of course.”

"Very good balance, reads the game really well and for a young boy he seems very mature in his decision-making,” he added. “A boy that we’re excited to develop further.”

But like any other teenage signing, the 47-year-old emphasized that the club will ensure Diallo will reach his peak at the right time.

"Of course we know he’s a young boy who’s going to learn his trade and come into a new country and new style of football, so we’ve got to be patient with him," the head coach pointed out.

Earlier this month, Solskjaer has also addressed Diallo’s future at Old Trafford. Per the manager, the 18-year-old will not be a trial and error signing but a long-term project instead.

"But apart from that not seeing too much of what we're gonna do – we are always working long-term, that's the big thing, on targets," he revealed.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are also linked to another exceptional prospect. Recent reports revealed that Manchester United has identified Sporting CP’s Pedro Goncalves as a potential Paul Pogba replacement.
