While “The Mandalorian” TV series has become a hit, the character that the fans are talking about more than the bounty hunter played by Pedro Pascal is Baby Yoda. Theories about the young character suggest that he may be a clone, and he may also have a connection to Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid).

According to a theory posted on Collider, it is unlikely that Baby Yoda is the child of the late Jedi Master of the same alien species. It is possible that the child is a clone because he was born around the time when the cloners on Kamino started building the Grand Army of the Republic.

What is clear from the show is that Dr. Pershing (Omid Abtahl) has a connection to the cloners on Kamino and wants the genetic material of Baby Yoda. The child is a Force sensitive and has a very slow ageing process, which should come in handy while building a new clone army.

According to a theory by IGN, “The Mandalorian” may have a connection to “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” The TV series has confirmed that someone powerful in the Empire wants Baby Yoda alive, and this may be needed for an experiment to resurrect Emperor Palpatine.

While the upcoming movie has teased that the Emperor has managed to survive, it is yet to reveal just how he managed it. Was the genetic material of Baby Yoda used to help Palpatine survive and continue to live?

So far, Pascal’s character has protected Baby Yoda and prevented the Empire from taking him. The TV series also revealed that there are many more Mandalorians who are currently in hiding. According to CBR, the warrior race became an underground religion of warriors after the civil wars led to their collapse and the Empire started to expand in their territory.

The next episode of “The Mandalorian” will be released on Nov. 29 on Disney+.
