MP Promotions’ and Pacquiao’s advisor Sean Gibbons reveals that the Filipino legend is willing to fight whoever is in front of him.

Manny Pacquiao is evidently the biggest name in the welterweight division today. This is the main reason why Errol Spence and Shawn Porter keep on calling out his name. Although a fight with either of the two prime welterweights sounds interesting, Pacquiao’s advisor Gibbons revealed that only Spence and Porter yearn for the fight and not the fans.

In an exclusive interview with World Boxing News, Gibbons stated how team Pacquiao really weighs the said potential fights including the talked-about rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“I don’t see a lot of people screaming for Spence versus the Senator (Pacquiao) or Crawford. These guys (Spence and Porter) need him right now so at the end of the day yeah you don’t rule anything out, but it’s boxing,” Gibbons said.

Gibbons also addressed the Mayweather rematch and according to him, Pacquiao doesn’t really focus on waiting for Mayweather alone like it appears on the news. The MP promotions advisor said that Pacquiao is speding more time working on his legacy at this point.

“It’s always out there, can it happen? – Maybe. Will it happen? We have no idea but in the meantime, the Senator is working on his legacy. Where he’s going in boxing. His world doesn’t revolve around waiting for Mayweather so he’s looking forward into next year. He’s going to challenge himself again with a top welterweight. Then we’ll see what plays out with the rest of the division,” Gibbons revealed.

More importantly, Gibbons stated that should it take long for Mayweather to make a decision, Pacquiao will fight whoever is presented.

“Until we get any indication from Floyd, we’re carrying on. We will fight whoever is presented,” Gibbons exclaimed.

At this point, Gibbons said that Pacquiao is currently enjoying some time playing basketball, the other sport close to the champ’s heart. Gibbons even added that Pacquiao is quite busy taking care of his basketball league and will figure things out in a couple of months.

“Right now, for the rest of the year, the Senator is just enjoying himself playing basketball. He’s taking care of his basketball league and then he’ll see in a few months what his future looks like for 2020,” he added.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 almost took a step closer to fruition. However, it was later revealed that Mayweather’s statement pertaining to discussing the rematch in Saudi Arabia happened a long time ago.
